Flavia Martinez Acosta passed away June 28, 2020 in Eloy. She was 85. Flavia was born in San Antonio De La Huerta, Sonora, Mexico on May 7, 1935. She was raised in El Claro, Sonora, Mexico.

She worked for the Hidden Valley water project. She was a pioneer in getting water to Hidden Valley. They received million dollar grant from the government under President Obama. She was very proud of all the hard work. She loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed bringing everyone together to partake in her Mexican cuisine.

Flavia is survived by her daughters Maria Carmen Castano and Maria Pavon; sons Arnulfo Mendez, Gilberto Mendez, Arturo Mendez, Edmundo Mendez, Francisco Mendez Jr., Miguel Mendez, Air Force retired Master Sgt., Jose Luis Mendez, and Eduardo Mendez; sisters Consuelo Villegas and Petra Martinez and brother Horatio Mendez and 31 grandchildren and Many great and great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her daughter Edelia Mendez and Francisco X. Mendez whom she lovingly shared 11 children with.

Services will be July 2, 2020 at Apostolic Assembly, 424 E. Frontier Blvd in Eloy. Viewing will be from 8am-9am, service at 9 am and burial immediately following at Eloy Memorial Park. Pastor Felix Bermerjo preciding.
