Carol Wehe, of Casa Grande, Arizona, passed away on New Year’s Eve, 2024.
Carol was born December 21, 1944 to Ted and Eva (Dockter) Richter of Goodrich, North Dakota. She grew up working on her family’s farm along with her older brother, Gordon. After high school, Carol attended college for one year at University of North Dakota. While there, she agreed to go on a blind date with another couple and met an Air Force serviceman named Gene Wehe. They were married less than a year later, on June 6, 1964. Their son was born in Virginia in 1965 and their daughter was born in South Dakota in 1967. The following year, Gene and Carol moved their family “north to Alaska” where they made their home in various towns over the next 26 years. Carol held primarily secretarial and bookkeeping positions throughout her career. When Gene took early retirement in 1994, the couple began their adventure as full-time RVers, a lifestyle they thoroughly enjoyed. They traveled around the country sightseeing, making new friends, and visiting family members before finally settling in Casa Grande.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Ted and Eva Richter, and her husband of 57 years, Gene Wehe. She is survived by her brother, Gordon Richter of McClusky, ND; son, Paul (Dawn) Wehe of Las Vegas, NV; daughter, Barbara (Scot) Fiscus of Juneau, AK; and grandchildren, Alex Wehe, Trevar Fiscus, and Jaena Fiscus.
A memorial service for Carol will be held on March 23, 2025, at Sunscape RV Park in Casa Grande, Arizona.
