Earl Price Nelson
Earl Price Nelson, Jr. 83, passed away unexpectedly in Casa Grande, Arizona, on May 24, 2021
While in recovery at Oasis Pavilion after a fall at home. Earl was born on June 20, 1937 in Trinidad
Colorado, and graduated from Trinidad High School in 1955. He enlisted in the Navy in Sep. of 1955,
and for 15 years saw service overseas in places such as Japan and Guam, as well as in San Diego
and Skagg"s Island in California, and Washington. His specialty was Cryptology and Communications,
and he was honorably discharged with the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer.
Like many Veterans, Earl was not immune to the stresses of his duties in service. After suffering a mild
stroke , he was guided to take advantage of services provide by the Veteran's Administration.
After leaving the Navy and living on the west coast for many years, Earl moved to southern Arizona to be
close to his sisters and resided in Casa Grande for 10 years before his death. He was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Carter Nelson (Hereford AZ). He is survived by his brother, Dennis Nelson (Zephyr Cove NV):his sister,
Nicki Nelson (Marana AZ), his daughter Kathleen MacLeod (Kamloops BC/Canada) and son Steve
Bedow (Blaine WA), five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
His death is also mourned by his close friend and roommate of 10 years Dee Dee Rosales.
Earl's family has deep appreciation for the care and friendship that Dee Dee provided for Earl.
Fallowing cremation through Angels in Waiting Mortuary, Earl's remains will be interred at the Arizona Veterans' Memorial
Cemetery in Marana. The family invites you to donate to a Veteran's support group of your choosing in remembrance of
Earl "Price" Nelson, Jr.
