Gail Richard Akin, loving and devoted husband to Sharon K. Akin, passed away peacefully at his home in Casa Grande on Thursday, August 26, 2021. He was 78.
Richard had a passion for history and was known for his quick wit, infectious smile and kind compassionate spirit. He was admired by family and friends for his patient gentle nature. He was extremely congenial, an easy going guy. Richard was an avid sportsman and loved Arizona. Every road, every rock, every stream was a new adventure to him. During his working career he was a soils engineer.
Richard is survived by his wife Sharon; brother Norman (Carol), and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father Embert, mother Flossie, brothers Ralph, George and Carl, and sisters Marcella and June.
Funeral services will be held September 16, 2021 at 11:00 am at the LDS church building, 220 E. Cullmber Av., Gilbert, AZ.
