Gene "Genie" Rae Loghry

June 16, 1950 - December 27, 2024

Gene "Genie" Rae Loghry, 74, passed away December 27, 2024 in Coolidge. She was born June 16, 1950.

Genie grew up in the Midwest and spent her retirement years near her daughter in Coolidge, AZ. She loved life and lived in the moment. Genie delighted in silly jokes and had sparkling eyes and an infectious laugh. When she traveled , she liked to "sneaky snake", to drive unknown roads and byways. Every trip was an adventure, whether going across the country or to the grocery store.

Genie had unshakeable faith, which she was never afraid to share with anyone. She was a prayer warrior. We can think of no greater happiness for her than being with Jesus and shouting his praises. She will be greatly missed until we meet her there on Heaven's golden streets.

Genie is survived by her children Corey (Tammy) Sogge of Fairburn, SD and Dhanie Gilpin of Coolidge, AZ; grandchildren Sheridan and Theodore Sogge; siblings Duane (Joanne) Gorsuch, Mike (Connie) Gorsuch, Robin Whipple, Christy Hashiski, David (Tammy) Gorsuch, Art (Gene) Waller, and James Waller.

She preceded in death by her parents Vernice Waller and David Gorsuch and infant son Romalyn Sogge.

There will be a celebration of life at Fairburn Church, 165 Linn St., Fairburn, SD on January 11, 2025 at 10:30 am. Pastor Duane Gorsuch presiding.
