James William Montoya, Jr.

January 6, 1946 - June 4, 2023

James William Montoya, Jr. passed away June 6, 2023 in Casa Grande. He was 77. James was born on January 6, 1946 in Peoria, AZ to James Sr. and Irene Montoya. He grew up in Peoria and attended Glendale Community College and Grand Canyon University, both on a baseball scholarship.

He taught fifth grade in Peoria for his entire career and was always involved in sports, especially baseball. He loved fishing and hunting and he especially loved to be with his grandkids.

He is survived by his wife Sally Montoya; his daughter Lisa; siblings Kathy Montoya, Robert Montoya, and Russell Montoya; four grandkids Caleb Montoya, Chris Kroll, Chloe Montoya, and Coby Montoya.

He preceded in death by his parents; his son William Montoya and his sister Maryanne Montoya.

Services will be at a later date in Peoria.
