Mary Lou Davis

January 29, 1931 - November 23, 2024

Mary Lou Davis, formerly of Champion and Republic, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2024, at Copper Sky Assisted Living in Casa Grande, AZ at the age of 93.

Mary Lou was raised in Negaunee where her parents, Wilfred Vizena and Jean (Vizena) LaForest, owned and operated the Hotel Bar. She lived most of her life in Champion where she worked at Herb’s & Mary’s Restaurant as a cook and later managed Maple Ridge Resort in Michigamme. She spent many years attending rodeo events around the region with her daughter Rhoda. She moved to Republic with her husband Bruce Davis and they retired to Arizona 27 years ago.

Mary Lou was preceded in death by her father Wilfred Vizena, her mother Jean (Albert) LaForest, her husband Bruce Davis, two brothers Donald and Herbert Vizena, and her sister Barbara ValVerde.

She is survived by her sister Rosemary Trewhella of Marquette, two sons, Wilfred Kobie of Champion, Donald (Jennifer) Bennon of Champion, one daughter, Rhoda Bennon of Marana, AZ, her granddaughter Jill Wolf of DePere, WI, and great grandchildren Ashley and Jayden Wolf.

Per Mary Lou’s wishes, no public services will be held.

Angels in Waiting Funeral Services of Casa Grande, AZ will be handling arrangements.
