Ron Lee Burton

September 1939- January 18, 2021





Ron Burton, 81 of Casa Grande Arizona, passed away peacefully. Of Covid Pneumonia at Casa Grande Reginal Hospital after

a loving visit with his daughter and wife.


Born in Plattsburg, Missouri to Rose &Melvin Burton. Ron was the youngest of 5 siblings, he lost his parents at a young age and he was raised by his loving aunts Helen Howard and Carrie Musser. In 1958, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served for 3 years as a Marksman during the Vietnam war, and received an Honorable Discharge in 1961. After his service, he was a hard worker and a devoted employee to Guy's Potato Chips/Borden Food Corporation for many years. He loved to be active in his

early years, hunting, fishing, and boating. Ron was first married in 1963, and his daughter Rhonda was born in 1968. Ron remarried in 1974 to Rita Burton and became a loving stepfather to her 5 children. Ron had a devious sense of humor and loved

a good laugh almost as much as he loved cookies. He was a man of almost constant motion who would run any errand that came to mind and if he missed something he was always happy to run back later just keep active, He loved to travel and visit national parks and monuments with his trusty camera in hand. After retirement he enjoyed playing pool, watching his beloved Kansas City Chiefs, camping with friends and family, and enjoying events at his local VFW. Ron was a caring and devoted husband to his wife as well as a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and uncle. He was known to many of his family members as Grump-pa he loved to tease loved ones and crack a joke or two with everyone. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Rita Burton, of Casa Grande, daughter, two step-sons, and two-step-daughter, 18 grandchildren and 32 -great-grandchildren and preceded by a step-son. He will be deeply missed and greatly remember in the hearts of his family and friends.

So service will be held but a celebration is to be planned when possible.
