Tad Edgar "Tadpole" Gillum

November 20, 1944 - August 21, 2023

Tad Edgar Gillum passed away August 21, 2023 in Casa Grande. He was 78. Tad was born in Oil Trough, Arkansas on November 20, 1944. Although he was from Arkansas, he grew up in Michigan but he never lost his southern accent. Tad was a member of the Elks club for many years and was also Exalted Ruler twice. He had many acquaintances and was well liked by them. He worked as a service manager A-1 Golf carts. He loved his work and worked there for 20 + years. His co-workers admired him for his ability to fix anything they presented to him.

His first love was motorcycles. He was happiest when he and his best friend, Tom Door, were riding out in the desert or anywhere the road would lead. He bought all the boys motorcycles starting at the age of 5. He also taught them to shoot, hunt and fish and how to make a campfire. They would tell stories and jokes.

Tad also liked to tinker. He would cut a hole in the wall and never finish it. He would put a picture or mirror over it. His job was done. Tad will be missed by his girls. He loved them dearly and would do anything for them. Good-bye Tadpole. We will see you on the other side.

He is survived by his wife Frances Gillum; children Michael Gillum, Paul Gillum, Tiffany Vicari, F.M. Romero, JoAnna Lovelace, Ange Pacheco-Gillum, Alex Pacheco-Gillum, and Mowgli Gillum; sister Beverly Wellington; grandchildren Scottie Gillum, Ashley Gillum, and Alex Gallegos and great grandchildren Nickalas, Olivia, and David Jr.

He is preceded in death by his parents Irene and T.D Gillum; siblings George, Linda, Jim, and Bobby; and nephew Duane.

There will be a memorial service September 9, 2023 at 10:00 am at the Casa Grande Valley Elks Lodge.
